On the bank of Man River about
one kilmeter away from Amphoe Dan Sai is the Phra That Si Song Pak.Constructed
in 1560, it commemrates the mutual cooperation between Krung Sri Ayutthaya
and Krung Sri Satana Kanahut(Vientiane). The structure is about 30 meters
high and it annual celebrations are attended by thousands of people.
About seventy kilometers from Loei on the Khon Kaen - Loei Highway is the Phu Kradung National Park located on high plateau. Lush and fertile, it is the home of many types of wildlife. With an elevation of 1,325 meters, the Park is ideally suitable for clod climate plants and trees. Bungalows and tents are provided by the National Park Section, Forestry Department, and prior reservation should be made through Tel. 5790529, 5794842 to ensure the overnight stay. As for private accommodations, the April Camping co.,Ltd. offers approximately 200-300 small bungalows each of which can accommodate two guests. Kradung National Park
Trains leave Bangkok Railway
Station for Khon Kaen. From there take a Khon Kaen - Loei bus to the market
in front of the Amphoe Phu Kradung Administrative Office. Next, a mini-bus
to the office of the Phu Kradung National Park 5 Kilometers away. This
is the starting point of the trekking joumey to the peak of the mountain.
From there, a 5-kilometer long footpath leads to "Land Pae". Then, after
4-kilometers walk along a pasturage you will arrive at the bungalows on
Ph Kradung. At your convenience, the office provides you with porters to
carry your luggages to the mountaintop at the rate of Baht 5 per one kilogram.
Bus from the Northeastern Bus Terminal in Bangkok (Mo Chit) also depart for Amphoe Phu Krakung Bus Terminal in Tambon Pha Nok Khao. From there take a bus to the office of the Phu Kradung National Park, and trekking from the on to the top.
Phu Luang Wildlife Sanctuary
Located on the high plateau
with an elevation for 1,550 meters. The area of Phu Luang covered several
amphoes, Wang Samphung, Phu Rua, Dan Sai and King Amphoe Phu Luang. Phu
Luang forest is a blend froest of tropical and colder mate forest. Wild
animals are abundant. Arranging for transportation, accommodation and sight-seeing
is only by Loei Aministration and Service Office Prior reservation directly
to the Office Tel. (042) 812033, 811776 is advisable since a certain number
of tourist is requited for each arrangement.

Luang National Park
The loei-Chum Phae 201 National
Highway leads to Amphoe Wang Saphoung before Amphoe Muang which is 20 kilometers
away from each other.
From Amphoe Wang Saphung, on the left of ther Wang Saphoung Community School, there is a road to the office of the phu Luang National Park. The road is the 26-kilometer long OARD No. 1027 on which a bus shuttles two round trips daily.
From the office to the tourist restion spot, it is 6 hours' walk and 14 kilometers in distance.
Phu Rua 1,375 meters above sea level, is another majestic mountain with a vast pine-covered plateau on top. A cliff shaped like the bow of a Chinese junk justs out over the mountain. There are buses leaving both from Loei and from amphoe Lom Sak of Phetchabun to Phu Rua daily. The entrance to the National Park is a walking distance from the Amphoe Phu Rua Administrative office. There are lodging provided at the park and prior reservation is needed by contacting the Tel. 5790529, 579484.

Out of Amphoe Muang on National
Highway No. 203 connected Loei with Phetchabun, at the 48 the kilometer
mark is the Amphoe Phu Rua Administrative Office. Nearby you will see a
sign of the Phu Rua National Park on the roadside which is in the area
of ban Nong Bua. The road to the park is 4 Kilometers long and paved with
laterite. From there, it is 5 kilometers to the mountaintop and only vans
and high powered motor cars can climb up.

Kaeng Kut Ku rapid on teh middle of the Maekhong River a Amphoe Chiang Khan creates a narrow but extremely swift current. Immersed in and sommthed by the ruching water for countless years, the rocks produce multi-colored scenes of unique beauty.
To the North of the Chiang Khan market is Wat Sri Khun Muangwith its wall made of glassy materials. The main chapel is shaped for like those found in the North. The wall murals depict a religious legend.
